WHY I WRITE WHAT I WRITE

I think I can call myself a wordie.

Not wordy like I use lots of words and not a lot of commas. Well, I do that too sometimes. But I mean wordie like a foodie. I appreciate the tone of words on a piece of paper and I think there's no better way to make someone laugh, apologize, plan, and create than to write it all down.

I've done a lot of different writing during my four years in Ann Arbor. I've written open letters, articles on campus life and athletics, essays on Marx, investigative journalism, and poetry for only my eyes. And that's just the traditional. I've also created podcasts, written the pilot episode of a television series, and recorded the dramatic telling of an original piece of speculative fiction. So, versatility? I've got it.

I'm not looking to write a novel...yet. I'm looking to use my creative energy towards helping to build brands, support missions, and communicate to each and every generation. I studied sociology because I believe that cultural competence and self-awareness are critical to understanding all sorts of complex societal problems. If marketers and advertisers aren't able to translate proven theory into action, they likely aren't communicating for their client effectively. I hope you'll allow me to help with this.
